--preamble to the Constitution of IACM
The 28th Israel Symposium on Computational Mechanics (ISCM-28) will be held in the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, on Thursday 29 April, 2010.
Two prominent invited speakers will give one-hour talks: Prof. Sergio Idelsohn from the Universidad Politenica de Cataluna, Barcelona, who is the Secretary General of the international CM association, IACM, and Prof. Helmut Neunzert from Technische Universitat Kaiserslautern, Germany, who is a leader in the application of applied mathematics and scientific computing in industry in Europe.
In addition, ISCM-28 will include two organized sessions of lectures. One session is on the use of CM for medical applications and computer-aided surgery. The second session, whose joyful spirit is going to dwell over the entire ISCM, is dedicated to the 75th birthday of Prof. Shmuel Kaniel from the Hebrew University, and is about scientific computing and its industrial applications.
In view of this, ISCM-28 will be a bit different than the previous ISCMs, and there will be no Call for Lectures this time.
Another difference from previous ISCMs is that, in addition to the traditional coffee breaks, lunch will be provided in the beautiful hosting house Beit Belgia to all the participants at no additional cost.
More details will be provided in due time.
